43QUAI is a family design company with a multidisciplinary approach to sculptural jewelry making.

Prototyped in Paris in 2016 by architect and designer Nydia Gonzalez and her daughter, a video artist, the brand develops minimal, practical yet sophisticated structures inspired by art-historical and physical environments.

The unisex collection builds from Gonzalez’s architectural background to explore the aesthetic contradictions of heavy, sterling silver materials against the softness of the skin. The goal is to create wearable art that harmonizes with, and accents, the body’s physicality.

Each individual piece is handcrafted by silversmiths in Austin, Texas, using a detailed casting process to ensure quality, weight and overall attention to detail.

About the name

Before her relocation to the United States, designer Nydia Gonzalez, created the first prototypes in her family home 43 Quai de Bourbon in the 4th arrondissement, where she raised her daughters and developed the first sketches for the collection. The family collaboration continues.
